Some Puerto Rican Judge

leave a comment »

Yeah, I know the Taco Belle is technically replacing another red diaper doper baby on the Supreme Court, but I don’t care.

Sonia Sotomayor won confirmation Thursday as the nation’s first Hispanic Supreme Court justice, a history-making Senate vote that capped a summer-long debate heavy with ethnic politics and hints of high court fights to come.

I also know she’s Puerto Rican, but, once again, I don’t care – I’m still going with the “Taco Belle” reference. Hey, if Clarence Thomas can be Clarence “Uncle Tom” Thomas, then I can bust out this ever-so-clever bit of wordplay. Just be glad I’m not adding my own spin to Julianne Malveaux’s “You know, I hope his wife feeds him lots of eggs and butter and he dies early like many black men do, of heart disease. Well, that’s how I feel. He is an absolutely reprehensible person.” I’ll do it if pushed.

Here’s the thing. It’s not a big surprise that President Hussein would select a commie like this. I don’t even really care. Yeah, there’s that whole I-hate-white-firefighters thing, but to expect President Hussein to actually select someone who’s a fan of, you know, the Constitution, would be like expecting President Hussein to … provide adequate proof of citizenship.

I don’t want to spend my time tonight going OMGLEFTWINGACTIVITSTJUDGE any more than I have to. Instead I want to focus my ire on the shitdicks on the other side of the aisle: the Republican Party. If you nimrods hadn’t been a bunch of jerk-offs from 2005-2008, then you wouldn’t be in the position you are in today. President Hussein. Super Majority in the Senate. Majority in the House. If you guys don’t get your shit straight, events like giving the Taco Belle a lifetime appointment will be the least of your concerns.

So sit back and give yourselves a pat on the back. You just allowed this lawyer in a robe the power to run roughshod over all our lives for at least a generation. After all, judges and courts are where the real law is made. Oops. Teeheeteeheeteehee.

Oh, and for the record, I am also aware that John McCain was born outside the U.S. mainland. I also wouldn’t have minded disqualifying him from the White House as well.

High Voltage Announcement

leave a comment »

Over the course of my life I have made an about-face on several things related to music.

One of them is that I now put Public Enemy’s “It Takes a Nation of Millions” above “Fear of a Black Planet.” I also now prefer Parrish Smith over Eric Sermon in the EPMD pecking order. Well now comes a similar ground-braking announcement.

Ever since I listened to ACDC I have always considered Brian Johnson the “voice” of the band over Bon Scott. Why? Well, I think part of it was I grew up with Johnson while Scott was a bit before my time. I was born in 1976, so I wouldn’t have heard the group’s early stuff. However, I think another factor is that I didn’t hear all of ACDC’s older stuff, and the stuff I did hear just didn’t do it for me as the era from Back in Black to Thunderstruck. Sorry, but I never liked “The Jack.” However, over the last year or so I have been getting other older albums from ACDC and now, when coupled with the fact I really don’t care for much of their work past Thunderstruck, I have now made the defection to the Bon Scott camp. I still like both front men; I just now give Scott the edge … for now.

I’m glad you were here to share in such a monumental occasion.
